Hi NamasteVapes™ fans! In today's blog post we're going to be talking about the G Pen Elite which is the new portable vaporizers coming from Grenco Science. The G Pro is already a very popular vaporizer among our customers and the G Pen Elite is a major upgrade in terms of operation, performance, size and portability. We're also going to compare the units size and performance with our two best selling portables, the Pax 2 by Paxlabs and the Crafty by Storz & Bickel.
G Pen Elite Reviews First Impressions
G pen Vape First Impressions: the packaging for the G Pen Elite is very nice. The unit come s in a small cylindrical black box and is well designed and protective of the valuable goods inside! When you pull of the box top you'll see the vaporizer itself and the accessory pack contained inside and held in place by poly-foam. The overall packaging and presentation of G Pen Vaporizer Elite is excellent. First impression of the vaporizer itself is that its extremely nice looking, all black and very stealthy. The unit's material seems to be a form of plastic polycarbonate with areas that have gloss, matt and soft touch textures. The Grenco Science logo is embossed on the front of the unit and the vaporizer is operated with the use of a main Power button with back-lit LED on the front of the unit and a plus and minus button for temperature adjustments that are nicely located beside the display.
G Pen Elite usability test
Ease of use: to use the G Pen Elite Vape you remove the rubber mouthpiece from the top buy pulling up and it releases easily. The G Pen Elite has one of the largest if not the largest chamber sizes out of any dry herb portable at around 0.75 grams. What is a really nice addition with the G Pen Vaporizer is that the Elite versus the original G Pro has a fully ceramic heater instead of a stainless steel heating chamber which means better flavor.
The instructions say to fully load the chamber with ground herbs. As with most vaporizers a full chamber packing is recommended for best performance. Once the chamber is packed and the mouthpiece is replaced click the main button five times to turn the unit on. Once on, the unit will display your pre-set temperature which can be adjusted using the plus and minus buttons on the side of the unit.
Select your desired temperature and then hold down the power button for 2-3 seconds and release to turn on the heating chamber. The G Pen Elite heats up extremely fast and from my experience within 20-30 seconds depending on the set temperature. Once the temperature is reached you can start vaporizing by drawing from air hole in the mouthpiece.
G Pen Vape Pefromance Test
Performance: Overal performance with the G Pen elite is excellent. The flavor has dramatically improved over its predecessor the G Pro vaporizer mainly due to the use of the ceramic heating chamber. Vapor production is also very good and I've found light short draws to be best for performance. The fully packed 0.75 gram chamber will also last for a long session. Flavor and vapor production remain consistent throughout the session as well. My only complaint in performance is the amount of heat diverted to the mouthpiece area. If you inhale for too long or have the temperature too high, or if you're further in to the session I found on a few occasions for the heat to be slightly uncomfortable. We are expecting to see either upgrades to the unit from the manufacturer or offerings of silicone mouthpiece extenders to reduce heat exposure similar to those that are available for the G Pro and other Grenco models.
A review of the G Pen Vaporizer's style
Size and style: My favorite part about the G Pen Vape is how the unit looks and feels in your hand. The G Pen Elite Vaporizer is a really well designed, ergonomic vaporizer with a very nice finish and feels like really good quality when you hold it. Its also very small and discrete and compares in size with a Pax 2. For the cost of this unit in comparison with the Pax 2 I think it's a no brainer.
I'm really expecting to see UK and EU G Pen Elite sales to at least match or outpace Pax 2 sales in the near future. The performance, size, appeal and ease of use are on par or better than a Pax 2 but with a much lower sticker price at £124.90. Our next best selling portable vaporizer is the Crafty by Storz and Bickel.
In terms of size and physical appeal, I would have to say that this Elite G Pen Vaporizer is both nicer looking, smaller and more portable and stealthy in comparison with a Crafty as well. However, in terms of performance, flavor and vapor production I would still have to say that the Crafty is best in class, however again quite a bit more expensive!
G Pen Elite Vaporizer Battery Life
Charge time and battery life: The G Pen Vape is charged via. Micro-USB port. The G Pen Elite has a built-in rechargeable 220c0mAh batter. The battery is recommended to charge for 3 hours and should last for 12-15 five minute sessions.
The GPen Vaporizer also comes with a Warranty
The G Pen Elite Vaporizer comes with a manufacturer backed 1 year warranty.
Our conclusion of the G Pen Vaporizer
Summary: The Elite G Pen Vaporizer is a new portable vaporizer we've launched in the UK and Europe. Its an extremely attractive portable vaporizer that is small, black and stealthy. It has digital temperature controls with a fast heat up time and good battery life. The performance of the unit and flavor is enhanced by the use of a large 0.75 gram ceramic heating chamber. The G Pen elite produces a lot of tasty vapor but the mouthpiece area does get hot during use. Overall I would rate this unit as excellent value for the price and we expect to see sales for the G Pen Elite to be on track with our best selling portables including Pax 2, Crafty and the Haze V3.
