Following on from the original unit, Boundless has unleashed a powerful new dry herb vape. If you’re looking for a powerful vaporizer with fast heat up times, precise temperature controls, and a vape that is easily storable in your pocket then look no further than the Boundless CFC 2.0.
While the original incarnation of this vape had a few hiccups, including the cracking plastic and the mouthpieces that overheated, the team at Boundless has really tried to better themselves this time around.
Easy to Use
Getting the most out of the Boundless CFC 2.0 is simple as can be. To load in your herb just remove the mouthpiece and put it into the ceramic heating chamber. The chamber itself can hold up to 0.5 grams if you pack it in tightly, however, if you prefer to pack it lighter that’s no problem. After that, reattach the mouthpiece and click the large button five times to bring it to life.
The CFC 2.0 uses a conduction heating system and takes an initial warm-up time of about forty-five seconds, not the fastest heating time there is but not too bad either. The two smaller buttons can be used to adjust the temperature in whatever way you’d like and you can simply use the OLED screen as a reference for temperature and battery life.
While the original CFC had some good quality vapor, the CFC 2.0 really improves upon the original. Any draw resistance is noticeably reduced and a bigger, improved chamber means there is more opportunity for heavier hits.
Boundless has always had a predilection for clouds and this vaporizer is no different. At around 188°C the vape produces quite thick clouds and the taste is still really great. Our recommendation is to be a bit careful with the top temperatures as the taste isn’t always pristine, but still, the improved mouthpiece cools down much easier.
Faster Heat Up Times
If you’re going to get a portable vaporizer, then you want to make sure that it heats up in sufficient time. The Boundless CFC 2.0 can get up to 199°C in only 25 seconds. Not bad at all.
At this temperature, the clouds are thick and tasty and it’s not difficult at all to adjust the temperature in either direction. In the future, the guys at Boundless could consider putting in Haptic feedback, which would be a really great feature, but for it to stay in this price range might be asking a lot.
Precision Temperature Control
One thing that is really cool about the CFC 2.0 is that it has precision temperature control. On the LED interface you can monitor exactly what temperatures your vape reaches so that you can tailor your experience precisely to your own needs.
The highest settings of the vaporizer are actually perfect for dealing with concentrates. Now this vape doesn’t actually come equipped with a concentrate pad but don’t let that slight detail stop you, simply bunch the wax between two layers of dry herb and Bob’s your uncle, concentrate city.
Improved Battery Life
The CFC 2.0 when fully charged can easily last an all-day session. It features a non-removable 18650 battery which will stay strong for one big session or a few nights without needing to be recharged. One feature that could be improved is having pass-through charging. Many of the more high-end vaporizers have this feature which allows you to use the vaporizer while it’s charging, but alas no such luck this time around. With that in mind, make sure you keep an eye on your battery levels because you don’t want to be stuck without a vaporizer to use for up to three hours.
Water Pipe Adapter Included
Who doesn’t love a bubbler? Don’t think about it, the answer is no one. Bubblers are fun which is great because you get a free water pipe adapter along with your Boundless CFC 2.0. The water pipe fits both 14mm and 18mmm female glass connections. It’s not actually quite as powerful a water pipe as many others that Boundless have produced, but, that said, it comes free with the vaporizer.
Let’s be real here - the price is absolutely outstanding. You’re unlikely to find many vaporizers of this quality for under a hundred quid. Granted there are a few bits and bobs that could be added in as we said (like haptic feedback and so on). The mouthpiece is plastic, true, but it responds so much better to high temperatures in comparison to the original CFC. The unit is sturdy, fits snug and tight in your hands and on top of that, it just looks really cool.
If you don’t want something too fancy, that works reliably and consistently and won’t break the bank, then the Boundless CFC 2.0 is a perfect dry herb vaporizer. It’s convenient to store and very discreet to use. This device is ideal for beginners who are just making the leap from conventional smoking and want to see what all the fuss is about with vaporizing. That said, a more experienced vaper could get a lot of joy from this unit, too.
